Together
Two paths, one duo.
Elena and Valerij Kisseljow both came to the mandolin by way of the domra — she from Ukraine, he from Russia — and met as students of Marga Wilden-Hüsgen in Wuppertal. Since 2005 they have formed the Ensemble «Opus 1», performing from Switzerland to Japan.
A shared musical path connects them: the ensemble «L'Esprit des Cordes» for early music, the YARUSS Quartet and several joint recordings — from «Maestro Calace» through «Maestro Kuwahara» to «Dances of Light». Today they both live and teach in Switzerland.
